1. What kind of program does PVCS offer?

PVCS offers the flexibility of multiple learning models. Our students have access to an independent study – home school format using a blended personalized learning model, combining classroom time with independent learning. Our students are supported by credentialed teachers who provide one-on-one, face-to-face instruction and an extensive offering of online classes.

2. How can I get my student pre-enrolled in PVCS?
Parents/Students may go to our home page and click on enroll now, in the upper right hand corner. Pacific View Charter School has open enrollment for high school students through the end of March and until the end of February for K-8 students.

3. Are classes available at PVCS?
K-3 students have enrichment opportunities including math tutoring, reading intervention and field trips. Students in grades 4-8 can choose from a four day a week onsite classroom, one day home study program (Oceanside only) or five days of home school (Oceanside and Moreno Valley). Many high school courses have workshops. These workshops meet 2-3 times a week for 60-90 minutes.  Tutoring and interventions are also available.

4. How is PVCS different than a traditional public school?

K8 families have the choice of either a Home School program guided by a Supervisory Teacher or a four day a week classroom program (grades 4-8 Oceanside only); high school students take two courses every 6-7 weeks and meet weekly with their Supervisory Teacher.

5.  How many students attend PVCS?
PVCS serves approximately 1,000-1,200 students throughout the year.

6. Can my student earn extra credits or make-up credits year-round?
When a student is enrolled in PVCS, there are several options for students to make up credits.  Students can enroll in accelerated credit recovery courses as well as in community colleges.

7. If my student has been expelled from his/her last school, can he/she still attend PVCS?
Yes, expulsions and suspensions pending expulsions are reviewed on an individual basis.

8. Can my student graduate and receive a high school diploma from PVCS?
Yes, PVCS is a fully WASC accredited California public charter high school.

Yes, PVCS holds a graduation ceremony complete with caps and gowns.

PVCS is a tuition-free public charter school.

PVCS accepts students living in the following counties: San Diego, Riverside, Orange, and Imperial.

14. Can a student attend PVCS and another K-12 public school simultaneously?
Students cannot attend Pacific View Charter School and another public school at the same time during the traditional school year of August through June. However, during July and August, high school students may be concurrently enrolled in the two schools.

15. Can a student attend PVCS and a community college?
Yes, Students can concurrently enroll in local community colleges while attending PVCS

Yes, all Pacific View Charter School teachers are credentialed.

17.What is the cut-off date for kindergarten?
For the 2016-17 school year, a child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2016 to begin school in August, 2016.
