Ricardo Darone

Board Member

I was born and raised in Southern California. My wife and I have three wonderful children. In my spare time, I like to learn and read about theology, personal finance, and technology. I’m a financial professional by trade, and I help grow food at the community farm my friend and I started. If I’m not serving my community in some capacity, you’ll probably find me with family, friends, or tacos. In that order too.

Kathi Cohen

Vice Chairperson of the Board

Kathi began at Pacific View Charter in 2006 as a Supervisory Teacher and was the High School Lead Teacher from 2012 until 2020, when she retired. Having been part of the Leadership team, Kathi understands the school’s culture, the stakeholders, operations, and its road to success. Today her number one interest continues to be the students. She enjoys seeing our students turn their lives around by becoming successful in their academics. This, in turn, increases their self-esteem and provides them opportunities to become valuable contributing members of society. She was invited to join the Board three years into her retirement, and she accepted. Kathi is familiar with the duties and obligations of a board member as she attended all the Board meetings when she was still a PVCS employee. As a board member, she will continue supporting the school, its students and parents, staff, and its continued growth in the community. Kathi resides in Carlsbad, California, with her husband Andy and their nine-year-old Goldendoodle, a former PVCS therapy dog. She has four adult children ranging from 29-37 years old. Kathi is a fervent golfer, playing 18 holes three times a week. Her goal is to shoot under 100 consistently. So far, she has only done this once, but “watch out, 2023”!
