Pacific View Charter School’s Special Education program, together with students, parents, and staff ensure that all students have the strategies and tools to understand how they learn most effectively. The Individual Education Plan process is meticulously defined by each student’s multidisciplinary team. The student-specific accommodation plan is used by all on-site/virtual teacher-held classes and Supervisory teachers. Translation services in all languages are provided.

Individualized Education Program (IEP)

The IEP process begins with parent consent to the initial assessment plan, followed by the determination and eligibility for special education services. If eligible, the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) is developed based on the input of the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, education specialists, administrators, and related service providers. The proposed IEP plan is reviewed in the IEP meeting with the IEP team including the student and parent, and finalized. The Individualized Education Plan is revised annually; however, changes to the IEP can be done anytime throughout the year, and for students who turn 16-years old an Individual transition plan is included in the IEP.

The parents are provided with copies of each iteration of the IEP.

In our Resource Rooms, students are taught strategies and tools geared toward educational benefit and progress on IEP goals. Our resource rooms offer skills in:
